Fix your iPhone 6 / Plus - IOS 8.0.1 update issue

There are many reports on the internet that the iOS 8.0.1 update for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is leaving the devices without connect with the cellular network and preventing the Touch ID function. If you ever put your hands on a new Apple devices and had the unfortunate surprise after upgrading, check out how to fix the problems.

Basically, what you need to do is reinstall the iOS 8 on your smartphone and get rid of the "news" update. With this, you will again use the iOS 8.0 and the problems should be solved without you lose any data stored on your device. Anyway, it's always good to do a backup with iTunes before you start.

For this, you must have iTunes installed on your PC or Mac and connect the problematic iPhone with its original cable.

Step 1

Download a fresh copy of iOS 8.0 through this site. There you will have to inform the model of your device and the version of the software you wish to download. To date, only one firmware is available for new iPhones 6 and 6 Plus, but if there are other, choose which details "8.0". Start downloading and wait for the finalization of the procedure.

Step 2

While the download is complete, you should disable the "Search iPhone". Settings – iCloud - Find My iPhone.

Step 3

With the completed download, launch iTunes on your PC or Mac and click "iPhone" in the upper right corner of the window.

Step 4

Hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Option key (Mac) and click "Update Search." ITunes will scour your PC for the file downloaded from iOS 8.0. If it does not find automatically, a window will allow you to select the downloaded firmware. Do this and keep an eye on the final stretch of the chosen file (ipsw).
