Since the disappearance of DreamScene - a tool that allows to put videos as wallpaper - Windows Vista, see moving images as wallpaper on your desktop is something rare. Not for lack of interest from users, but because there is no native option in the latest version of the system.
If you have VLC Media Player installed on your machine, it can be used as an alternative option to fulfill your desire to put a video as wallpaper. For this to happen, open the desired video in VLC Media Player (Right click on the video, "Open with" and "VLC Media Player"), go to the "Video" tab and find the option "Set As Wallpaper".
Though it works perfectly, know that there are some "buts" in this technique. First, be aware that you must keep the video running for the effect to be applied and, if it is turned off, your wallpaper will again become the default static image.
Remember that while the video make up the bottom of your screen, all shortcut icons on your desktop will be hidden. It may not seem like something totally new, it is true, but should make life easier for those who need to keep an eye on a video at the same time draw up a report of the work, for example.
