Review: Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition (PS4)

Guacamelee debuts on PlayStation 4 in the form of Super Turbo Championship Edition.

HD updates, and Game of the Year editions of already released games have been popular in past years. Every developer has seen his chance to earn some extra by bundle their already released games with a few minor upgrades and then sell it as a new issue. Some have been better than others.

Drinkbox Studios phenomenally beautiful mix between Castlevania , Metroid and cult roller Nacho Libre was released last year for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 and enchanted us in the newsroom correctly. Now, it is dawning for the game to thunder out on the PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and it has since gotten the extra-titled "Super Turbo Championship Edition.

I had the pleasure last year to share our second highest rating for the PS Vita version of this game - a title that I continue to enjoy. Guacamelee was crammed with charm, polished game mechanics and wonderful design and a large part of the fascination with the arrangement was combination and the dynamics between platform elements and action parties and the dynamics between the different dimensions in the game world - the world of the dead and the living piece of Guacamelee 's colorful tortilla universe.

The environments remains one of the absolute best thing about this game when they are bursting with life, movement, charm and color. The whole party feels like a wonderful mix Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory and Star Wars: Clone Wars topped with copious amounts of taco seasoning. The PlayStation 4 version, the graphics are terrible Resolution and the bright colors look better than ever. The music is equally brilliant as usual and just like in the PS Vita edition is the dynamic and works with graphics and what is happening on the screen. Insane marackas, trumpets and Nacho Libre-esque melodies flying out of the speakers and creates a very special atmosphere.

Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition is a wonderfully cozy little gem packed of great challenge and entertainment. It contains the DLC portions released to PlayStation 3 and is a very welcome addition to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
