Huawei Emotion UI 3.0: interface appears on the Web

A new interface is under development at Huawei. Emotion UI 3.0 has appeared on Weibo this weekend. The overlay is visually closer to the current trend.

All Huawei smartphones are powered by a version of Android found a house called Emotion UI overlay. We have shown in particular at the test Ascend P7 there less than two months. The particularity of this interface, such as Meizu or the Infinix is to eliminate the application menu for a closer iOS (where all installed applications are displayed on the home screen) presentation. Maintaining this feature, Emotion UI is constantly being improved by Huawei As versions. The last is numbered 2.3. It is especially present in the Ascend P7, but also in the Honor 6 formalized it a few weeks ago.

A new very "flat" overlay

For version 3.0 is already advanced. We want to show the screenshots indiscreetly circulated on Web late last week. These images reveal some of Emotion UI menus. We recognize the Huawei tab, including pastel colors (closer to Android L, the interface of the LG G3 or iOS 7). However, several changes have been made. Starting with icons that take a round shape rather than square, as new versions of the two most popular mobile OS. The "flat" trend (with transparency effects and shadows less present) initiated by iOS obviously influences designers Huawei.

Multiple Inspiration

Another small detail, navigation buttons, integrated into the interface, like those Android L. This may indicate that this version works under Emotion UI Lollipop. Very good news if it materializes, because it shows that Huawei continues to follow diligently updates the most important of the Google OS. As a reminder, the Ascend P7 and Honor 6 run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Ergonomic changes also affect the settings menu, the phone keypad and the notification area. Icons in black and white now feature these menus. We find the same kind of iconography in the quick setup of iOS, but also in the menu settings overlay HTC Sense 6.0. Inspiration comes from all directions.

This new interface is very interesting. Remain whether these changes are only cosmetic, or if Huawei has provided other functional changes in the navigation or in applications. Certainly answer in a future flagship. Perhaps the Ascend D3, we crossed last week...
